Answers, any work you put into asking or answering questions can't be found later by those searching for that information. Why can no content be indexed, you ask? For one thing, the content is entirely in JavaScript.

17 Vote(s)

Meta search engines 4. Web directoriesAsk, Google, Live, and Yahoo! are the major algorithmic search engines using their own software.Yahoo! operates some search engines under old brands it acquired (the most notable being Altavista) but there are a fair number of ISP Web sites (like Comcast and Verizon) that use major search engines' resources. Also, some search resources like AOL use other search engines' resources. The best known meta search engines are probably Mamma, Dogpile, and Webcrawler.Web directories may number in the thousands but most of them are specialty or niche directories.
"I get that Blogher is about supporting female bloggers but creating a double standard of not even allowing male speakers at their conferences goes a little too far. Now I'm not against women supporting other women but shouldn't the focus be people supporting people. We should be striving to fade the line drawn between the sexes not making it bolder."

12 Vote(s)

I first checked out the organic results, but I didn't see you there. "Hhhmmmm", I said to myself, "this is strange".
As you know Sphinn Admin and Moderators have privileges that Sphinn members don't have. For example Sphinn Admin can remove/delete or edit our submissions. Don't know whether moderators have the same power, but i know for sure they can edit our submissions. On the other hand, we as members can Sphinn, Desphinn or report spam. For psychological reasons, which might be well observed by Admins and moderators of forums and social media, the Desphinn or similar actions of Admin and moderators carry much power and more influence (especially on new members) than the Desphinn actions of members.I.e the Desphinn action of Admin and moderators might be equal in its effect to 5-10 Desphinns of members. Such Desphinn might stop members, especially new ones, of Sphinning the desphunn submissions. Therefore I wish to ask; in the name of fairness shouldn't Sphinn Admin and moderators decline voluntarily of Desphinning?

4 Vote(s)

"Many people, however, will find it puzzling that Google thinks it necessary to create a new platform for people to share information. Why bother, when Wikipedia will give you answers whether you're wondering about George M. Dallas (James Polk's vice-president) or the 13th Floor Elevators (an Austin psychedelic rock band formed in late 1965)?One person asking that question is Wikipedia co-founder Jimmy Wales, who learned about Knol a few months ago, when Google posted a blog teaser about the project."What is the added value?" Wales asks. "People already can put up web pages somewhere on the internet, put some ads on it if they want to get revenue or not put ads if they don't want the revenue."Wales clearly thinks that his brainchild will satisfy most searchers. "If I type in Thomas Jefferson, there's a pretty good chance that the Wikipedia entry is more or less exactly what I'm looking for," he says.Google says it isn't trying to compete with Wikipedia, but providing an alternative."I'm not suggesting one is better than the other, but different," says Manber. And what would the difference be? "

3 Vote(s)
