Trying to get some feedback and/or ideas...a client site I work on has a strange issue: when they perform a search inside their building on Google for their domain name, their site is missing from the search results. When I try it (different location, IP, of course) at my office, they show up #1. For some reason, it appears the problem is internal for the client. They operate a retail site that mainly sells business forms, checks, invoices, etc. Any feedback from Sphinners?

5 Vote(s)

I use Google Calendar as my yearly planner in tandem with my Gmail account. But the one thing I'm missing is an integrated task list that I can check off as I complete tasks. I use a task list gadget with my desktop reader, but I need something tied to my G Calendar. Is there such a thing? If not, maybe the Calendar Googlers could add that in.

2 Vote(s)

Wow. This is interesting - it would be great to see the major engines deploy something like this to properly id video (or maybe even flash someday!?) From the article:"The technology assesses the similarity of images based on image characteristics presented as high-dimensional numeric information. The information is acquired by automatically detecting information regarding the images, such as color distribution and shapes. The technology can be applied to video search as well."

1 Vote(s)

I work almost exclusively in e-commerce SEM/SEO, and currently manage a handful of retail website SEM campaigns. Putting aside the many subjective factors that go into calculating a decent sale conversion rate per site visitor - can anyone comment on what industry "standards" or benchmarks are a good target? I've read 4-6% isn't bad. Any thoughts??

1 Vote(s)

Hi Everybody! This Sphinn thing is sweet. Anyway, here's my situation:My employer will not fund a trip to Pub Con this December, so I will be attending SES Chicago (I hail from Milwaukee). We all know that these two events are running at the same time, so...what are the consequences? I know the sponsors/speakers/attendees will be split and it seems a good majority are favoring Pub Con. Are we going to get a "Lite" SES Chicago??

7 Vote(s)
