Most business owners and website publisher still look at social media with short term goals. They are willing to invest the time and energy but are still looking for direct sales. As a result the editorial tone of the piece takes a different angle, is less useful, and ultimately generates less links. Here's an example of an exceptional piece that is well written, and resource rich without being salesy. Do you think it will generate more links with the KWD's "business cards" than one concerned with selling?

14 Vote(s)

At the Google Groove during SMX several of the Sphinn moderators and admins got into a heated debate about an important question, who's the best Star Trek Captain, Kirk or Picard?I'm an old school guy with a "damn the torpedoes full speed ahead" approach, so it's obvious I'm a fan of the classic Trek and Captain Kirk. However Picard really seems to have captured the hearts of many of the other Sphinn administration. So in a completely un-scientific and non structured way, voice your opinion below.PS: Someone came by and made the suggestion of Janeway, but I'm guessing that had more to do with the alcohol than anything else, and since Sisco came is a LT and was only promoted mid series run, he totally doesn't count ;-)

42 Vote(s)

Nevertheless, Hilton expressed anger at YouTube for sending him a standard, generic e-mail informing him of his account's violation and temporary shutdown. Don't they know who he is? They should, his YouTube videos generate millions of views, according to him. Doesn't he rate at least a phone call? In his farewell video, Hilton tells his fans he probably won't be posting any more videos to YouTube and that neither should they. Dis.The automated solutions of viacom and YouTube backfired on both of them, starting a very nasty, very public dispute.

37 Vote(s)
