So here is my question for everyone, based on some research I am doing for a site. It is not intended to be a discussion of the effectiveness of Wikipedia, or their no follow policy, or anything like that, so please read it carefully.Let's say (as an SEO) you are working with a site called "Orange" that does consulting and you want to create a company Wikipedia page. So you go to Wikipedia and you find not only a page for orange the fruit, but one for the color orange, and there is even reference to an artist named Orange (which leads to a dead Wiki page)Would you:a) Create a page with the same name (Orange) to try and capitalize on the search engine positioning of the current Wiki pages knowing that the searches would be in no way related.or b) Create a new page with the name "Orange Consulting" to distinguish your site, but still have a Wiki page for the company.I think I know my answer, but after going through this exercise, I am now questioning it. I am curious to know what others think.

2 Vote(s)
