Is Wikipedia sharing a spammer blacklist with Yahoo and Google? Search Marketer and Wikipedia volunteer Jonathan Hochman says yes. And what makes someone a Wikipedia spammer? Content? Automated Links?

That doesn’t sit well with me. Who’s definition of spam is being used? Since wikipedia nofollows links why should Google care who does what over there?

Like everything at Wikipedia, their blacklist is freely available to the public, including the search engines.  Matt has said that the blacklist is like a spam report.  Information that can be used, but isn’t deemed 100% reliable because of the possibility of competitors creating false reports.

Yep...the wiki folks mentioned this at SMX. They are sharing the blacklisted IPs with the SEs.
