What?! Cant believe this post has been live for 2.5 hours and only 3 sphinns! This is excellent news. One of the best posts Ive seen in a long while!
YAY .... now who is coding the WP plugin?
Very well written as always Vanessa, thanks very much for compiling that break-down! :)
Wordpress plugin here: http://yoast.com/canonical-url-links/
@divinewrite - agreed, now almost 17 hours this article has only 19 sphinns. How does an extremely helpful and informative article like this only manage 19 sphinns compared to some of these other submits which provide little value, which garner much more attention.....Silly question, but would the tag need to be placed on the canonical page as well, or only on the pages that are "duplicated?" I assume from the comment which states that this directive will be treated like a 301 redirect that the tag need only be on the duplicated pages, but just want to clearly and confirm that......
Let me get this right - If you stick the Canonical link to the actual "original" page - and any other page that has duplicate content will treated and indexed as the original page ?
