This IS annoying. I will note that two Google presentations are available, one by Peter Linsley and one by Matt Cutts. The former is ... useless since Peter obviously did most of his presentation off screen. The presentation could be able anything!The latter is a nice, well documented launch of the ’canonical’ tag. Maybe Matt gets special dispensation? I don’t know. Or maybe it’s the fact that it really is public knowledge. This presentation stonewall will only encourage folks to take photos of slides in session and then post them all over the place. It’ll be like Grateful Dead bootlegs. "Hey man, I’ve got a SMX West 2009 Maile Oyhe PPT Deck, it’s sooo mind blowing." I very much appreciated the openness from the search engine teams. This just seems backwards. Most of this was live blogged. It’s out there. You’ve imparted the information. Without the presentaitons it might even get whispered-down-the-lane. So why not just let the presentations be available to ensure we’ve got it right.
