Good call.
Yeah, we had that issue last week already: In case Google does not count Twitter. StumbleUpon, Delicious as we asume its already highly biased and soon the results quality will deteriorate to the point when Google wont be able to ignore nofollow etc. anymore.
This nofollow madness will hurt Google. If I were MSN, with their sad algo, I would follow all links and get results that were far better than google.
Tinyurls are 301d...so at least it doesnt "hoard" the link value.I use http://urlsnoop.com to see if links are redirected properly and to see where shortened URLs redirect to.
This kinda bothers me too - especially since URL shortening on really vital social networking sites is so prevalent. I guess Google doesnt care if your content is relevant if its wrapped in a tinyurl package.
Im not perfect agree with you estimation.A month can be a short testing period.Just continue testing.
I agree with sun (?). You should keep your research for a longer period to be sure that this is true. Its quite an interesting topic. Good going.
Its an interesting research. As sun and frank, I want to see some extra views of this problem. Ill test too.@onreact: if you tell that google does not count Twitter links, why it appears on my GWT?
@fabioricotta - Twitter links are nofollow, so they may still appear in GWT but they wont pass any link juice. Especially not if theyre passed through TinyURL, it would seem.
@shark, I know that they are nofollowed, but as I mentioned into a YOUmoz post (http://www.seomoz.org/ugc/twitter-dupe-content-and-linkbuilding-strategy) some other links into twitter counts.
