"New doors" ? Products from Base have been appearing in Universal Search for months on end now. Ive generally found that being MORE descriptive in terms of using additional attributes to work against me, so I tend to provide the bare minimum and it yields better results.Some other things Ive learned in the past 6 months:Submitting your feed every week rather than for the maximum 30 days reaps dividendsThe more ratings you receive through shopzilla/ciao/dealtime/pricegrabber/review centre and so on increase the likelihood of appearing in universal search - I guess this emphasises the importance of trust/branding (especially as weve seen in the last few weeks)I need to test this fully, but when weve offered an unbeatable deal on a popular product that no-one can compete with, conversion rate through PPC seems to play a big part in universal search listings.
@gregp: How much of that could just be price filtering like froogle used to do? Sigh. I personally like the name "froogle" much more than Google Base. I know they are not really the same product but one definately grew out of the other.
