This is a message more people should be acting on. It is not just WordPress but any good blogging software will give you high Google visibility if you handle it right. WordPress is particularly effective and my personal choice too.

While I still consider myself "starting out" in the field of SEO, I definately agree here. I’ve consulted on several sites and using WordPress (or similarly good) SEO friendly backbone/CMS to your site makes a big differences. You can focus less on the mechanics and more on the content and the links.
