Have you ever seen exact copies of your content on other sites with no link back to the original? If you have a blog with no more than 200 visits a day, your answer is most likely to be “yes” (or you just never noticed it).

Going after each thief demanding to remove the stolen content is both time-consuming and depressing. Why not try to force them to link back?

:) I actually use the scrapers to my advantage intentionally. By using tags to certain sites you wil almost always get a few trckbacks/links from eah post. Then pretty much as you said just properly seeding your content can net you some freelinkbacks. I have also had some sucess tweeking rss feeds to deliver my ads by way of rss to the scrapers sites. Nothing beats having a theif pay you in links & clicks ;)
