We provide permanent one way links…..,
We often encounter statements like this, while cruising around the Internet to hire link building service providers. And more so obvious, it sounds convincing. After all, no one intend to acquire links that would disappear with time or get camouflaged by other links on that page.

I completely disagree with the guys who desphunn this. I think either they did not read full article or they just following the first comment . I request you all to read the whole article again and they conclude what it is all about. This is not the sales article. What I observed is, author highlighted the most common misconception floating around link building.

I dont think anything was adressed except that fact that the authors clienst dont know the difference between "permanent" and "short term" links. I desphunn it because I dont think it adds value.

I don’t think it’s a very good or useful article, but the lesson here is that sub-headings are very powerful and need to be more carefully considered. We provide permanent one way links….., “Your links will be Permanent for 6 months”“Get permanent links from blogs and Articles”Stuff like this makes readers instantly go into defensive ’i’m reading a sales pitch’ mode.

Or alternatively, don’t write a sales pitch if you meant to write an article. It’s not hard...

Is desphinn disabled for this article now?  I am getting the ’less than 50 characters’ error, no matter how many characters I include.

@ManleyCheck that you’re not using any special characters in there (?"/ etc.) It’s one of the *cough* features *cough* of Pligg.

@tripti.pandey I don’t comment often, and that’s the only desphinn so far I have ever given. Please don’t insult me by saying I either didn’t read the article fully or I "just following the first comment". You don’t know me so don’t pretend you do.You should be glad that Sphinn requests Desphinners to provide a reason for downvoting. That way you can develop your strategy for next time. We’re all marketers on Sphinn, so of course we expect a little pitch in most articles that are posted. Likewise most of us can spot a sales pitch from miles away since we write many of them. But all anyone is asking is you make a little more effort in providing readers with value (tips, research, actionable points) rather than a thin promotion page.

Yes, I am a slave to getting links. Sadly Google uses links as an indicator of value. It is like you believe that the girl with the most boys who have her phone number is the most valuable and what you get is not a lady, but the school tramp.

lindop - I agree with you 100%.  My first ever desphinn as well.

The funny thing is your comments do more to boost the artilce than your desphinn does to lower it. The author should be thanking you :)

I know math isn’t my thing, but since when is 28 Sphinns minus 12 Desphinns equal to 26 Sphinns and a FP?

Avatar
from NickWilsdon 3105 Days ago #

@WiepBefore a story goes hot 1 desphinn = 1 sphinn but after they reach 23 (hot barrier) then 1 desphinn = 1/5 sphinn or near abouts. That makes it very hard to take a story down after it has made the FP.

I don’t think it’s all that bad, but it’s a little surprising to see articles like this on the front page.1) The threshold for Hotness is way too low.2) Way too many people just push the Sphinn button based on the title.3) Nick knows way too much about how this thing works. :D

Okay, I’ll Desphinn and give my reasons too. There is absolutely no substance at all in the article, not one freakin’ bit. How did this thing get 27 Sphinns? How? Let me go start digging through that entire Sphinners list for this topic to determine why. How many puppets were involved?"I don’t think it’s all that bad, but it’s a little surprising to see articles like this on the front page."That can’t be the same Dan Thies I’ve known for years.A quick peek at the list of those who Sphunn this and I can see why it got to the Front Page. Man, I thought all that auto stuff stopped. A little birdie told me that once a story gets a certain number of Sphinns, the apps built for Sphinn will start Sphinning automagically. They are configured to do that. They figure if a Story has at least this many Sphinns, then it must be worth Sphinning automagically. That is how this stuff gets to the Front Page.

My 2c! Not worth any vote! I am new to this - but this wont even make the Front page of any decent  social media!@Pageoneresults, do you mean it is that easy to game Sphinn?

"Do you mean it is that easy to game Sphinn?" I don’t even want to go there. That is for the Sphinn Team to contend with. I’ve had my say about it long ago and will just continue to work with and/or around it until the new Sphinn platform is launched. I’m anxious!

I have a challenge for the 29 people who have Sphunn this already. How about providing a comment as to why you Sphunn it. I mean, we have to provide at least 50 characters for the Desphinn Comment, I think it only fair that you have to provide at least 250 characters for the Sphinn to register. Wow, there’s an idea. Each new Story submission requires a comment of substance and any subsequent Sphinns require at least 250 characters to get that Sphinn to register. That’s not gonna happen, just wishful thinking out loud on my part. :)

I did not know that rule about the 23 golden rule devaluing desphinns. OK, my sunday is being spent creating imaginary sphinn memberships. Gooooooooooooooo SPAAMMM :-). (P.S. moderators, you know I AM KIDDING, right? :-).

This is just sales. I’ve read it and @tripti.pandey re-read it. The conclusion just tries to seal the deal with a link to the homepage of the seller.

Badly written article, doesnt clearly make points, site is clearly trying to make a sales pitch and be a news/guide article.

Held off on desphinning this but it’s a badly written article that doesn’t make any sense to me. I have no idea what it’s trying to tell me and seems to just be designed to get a contextual link.

No substance at all. Just a ramble and promo for their link building service.

The article is a continuation of a series of sales articles. No value what so ever.
