"Im so happy I can be the first to comment. Right when I was getting ready to retire for the evening I saw my #TweepMe stream light up with the excitement. I actually listened to all of that. Yes, I did it!
Where do I start? If your Followers could not see through that entire interview for what it really was, Ill just jump back over to our side of the Social Media space and enjoy the quality relationships that are established through trust and real manual labor. You know, clicking links, reading bios, etc.
Virus? Trojan? Heh! Ill take it you read the first 140 characters of my article and missed the other 14,490? I referred to it as a Twitter Self Replicating Human Virus. Note the insertion of the word Human before Virus. And ya, that thing pulled in like a Trojan Horse and dropped its load on Twitter.
Bugs? That is what Alpha testing is for. I dont think @bobbr, which you failed to indicate has also had his Twitter account suspended, did any testing. This was a "throw it against the wall and see what sticks" approach with no consideration for the fabric of Twitter.
@bobbr, if the @TweepMe account was overzealous with the Hummingbird application, what happened with the @bobbr account? That was your personal account. @Tweep_Me appears to be the last one standing at the moment. So, youve burned through 2 of 3 accounts with Twitter. Maybe they have a 3 Strike rule?
TWITTER ENDORSEMENT? Did I hear @bobbr say he has an endorsement from the Twitter API Team? I am definitely going to investigate that claim. Im confused as to why 2 of 3 Twitter accounts are now Suspended but yet the Twitter API Team endorses the TweepMe bottom feeding community? Wow!
TwitSnob, Newbies, yada, yada, yada. You know what Ms. Aloha Arlene? Im not even going to go there. Im sure many of your following just felt like crap listening to you call them newbies like that. And then saying you used to be a TwitSnob? Yikes! Ill bite my tongue. Im guilty of the same. :(
Fake Accounts? I dont remember anyone really saying much about fake accounts. Those are a given on Twitter. I see a bunch of default Twitter Avatars in that TweepMe stream, a whole lot of them.
Oh my, what a FAIL! @bobbr plays the Teacher, Mother of 3, etc. card. What a LOSER. Any of you who fell for this Twyramid should suffer the consequences. I foresee Suspended Twitter accounts for many using these types of applications. That @boobr even said so himself, they didnt take kindly to his use of HummingBird. What exactly was he using with the @bobbr account that caused suspension?
P.S. I could have invested this time on my own Blog. But you know what Ms. Aloha Arlene? Me thinks you and your Following need a wake up call. What you are promoting and doing to the Twitter fabric is not wanted by many. I see youve got many drinking the AlohaArleen Kool-Aid and Im going to catch major flack for this. Hey, they call me the Simon Cowell of SEO. :)
Love the interview, you are such a dynamic, dramatic person. Kudos to you!"
^ Why am I so passionate about this stuff? Why? What a time suck!

Latest Updates: @bobbr, @TweepMe, @Tweep_Me accounts all Suspended. I have a feeling that the interview that @AlohaArleen posted was probably the clincher. Now well wait and see the fallout from all of those who are using the TweepMe application, if any. I have this sneaky suspicion that the app will fail to work here shortly. Me common sense leads me to believe that. Id be a little concerned after watching 3 of 3 TweepMe accounts get nixed in less than 72 hours. If you can spare 25 minutes of your life, and dont mind feeling ill, listen to the audio interview. I was doing searches for cults while listening to that. These people are Twombies. Im really concerned for the fabric of the Internet, or that part of it anyway. ;)
Latest Updates: Twitter Issues Warning to TweepMe. User are bailing now. Not as quick as they signed up though. It appears that many are having problems Unfollowing those that have been added during todays run. At the moment, TweepMe claims to have made 28,915 Connections on behalf of 4,816 Active Members.During the interview with @AlohaArleen, the TweepMe Creator stated that they had 7,500+ subscribers but lost 2,500+ due to the herd waking up from their Follow Fame Coma. The Active Members number appears to be decreasing slowly.Im just wondering how far one can go with abusing that Twitter API before they just block it. That is a shame that they let that HOOVER flood the indexes with all that TweepMe crap. Not only was it Twitter, but Google, Yahoo! and Live also picked up a good portion of it. There were probably over 7,000 #TweepMe Promos that hit the timelines.
Damn Sherlock, errr i mean Ed.You must have mad time on your hands.:-pwelcome back bro.
"You must have mad time on your hands." 8 hours of career. 8 hours of hobby. 6 days per week. Unrelentless in my pursuit of answers. Im fortunate in that my career and hobby are one in the same which means 16 hours each and every day, woohoo! Im a fiend... Feed me...Latest Updates: GetSatisfaction has a great resource for communication with Twitter application developers. I started a topic over there when this all started and monitored its progression this week. Yesterday, the TweepMe creator went to work at GetSatisfaction. Im going to guess that he was given some SEO advice and took it to heart. Since that GetSatisfaction listing is in the top 5 for the TweepMe name search, that is a smart move to start working that system over there. This guy from TweepMe comes in and starts marking all the opposing comments as Spam. Apparently the GetSatisfaction system favors the company it supports in this instance. I do believe there were two of them working the board and I sure hope it takes more than just the application creator marking as spam to have those comments removed. My comments were disappearing right before my very eyes. I think he nuked about 4 of them which of course I get via email so there is complete documentation.I have a request in to have the comments reinstated for posterity. I guess I posted my last comments after the two of them left the board over there as they are still standing. I of course had to link to the #TweepMe Twitter Search results which clearly show the mood about TweepMe, the users are not happy. And, the dingbat cannot delete all those negative comments from the Twitter Timeline. Nor can he remove them from Google, Yahoo! or Live. Yes, thousands of his #TweepMe references are indexed. You should see some of the comments being displayed as Snippets. Damage Control.http://Search.Twitter.com/search?q=TweepMehttp://Search.Twitter.com/search?q=%22Tweep+Me%22 http://www.Google.com/search?&q=site:twitter.com+TweepMeMany are looking at the TweepMe words together (concatenated). Ya gotta split them up (Tweep Me) so you can see all of the conversations. :)
Latest Updates: The exodus continues. While performing further research I found this site. Wow, I thought I was pretty good at writing. This person may be able to give me a run for me money. Excellent writeup on the TweepMe application and its pros vs cons. Modern Software Experience - Twitter and TweepMehttp://www.tamurajones.net/TweepMe.xhtml
*** TweepMe claims to have made 28,915 Connections on behalf of 4,816 Active Members. ***<div></div><div></div><div>For everyone to be connected to everyone else, youll need nearly 25 million connections. If they are adding 25 000 per day (1000 per hour), theyll need 33 months to do them all.<div></div><div></div><div>If they do two per second (API abuse anyone?) theyll still need 4.8 months to do it all.</div></div>
This could be a threat to Twitters montezation options. Also the security concern is huge. If someone hacks this guys database/site, and throws in a Trogan (like you said) and takes out 5k computers.... Wouldnt Twitter be liable? Since they (Twitter) empowered it (TweetMe) ...Id sue Twitter and get me a piece of that 35 million VC money. Also, this guy saying "its safe" is a bunch of BS. This is a hackers dream. Heck, wasnt there like a contest that hacked FF, Safari, and Chrome recently? Those guys have millions of dollars to make a browser, he thinks his small team can keep it almost impossible to hack. Total BS. Im sorry but this will be very very bad. All it takes is 1 person. Sigh.....we will see what twitter does. If I cared anything about my business model (if i were twitter), Id shut down their API access and threaten a 2 week warning to leave it (just a simple email should do and a display....on the web when they login) etc. But obviously after listening to that audio interview, Twitter currently is cool with it. Sigh............
I dont see why you are making such a big deal about TweepMe. How is it hurting your user experience on Twitter? Warn people about the possible hazard and move on.Just an update on the 25 new twitter accounts I created and signed up with. Each one now has between 15-30 followers and Im following around 30 people with each account.I think its a great way to seed new accounts (no one likes following someone with barely any followers). After I get a couple hundred or so followers, Ill drop the service and stop following people who are not following me.I would not sign-up with my main twitter account... but its great for jump-starting new accounts.
*** 25 new twitter accounts I created ***Err. I am not going to express the thoughts I have about that right now for fear you are offended, just a tad.
Desphunn. Think pageoneresults is making a big deal about nothing. Dont hate me :)
