Google, as well as Yahoo and Live, have been moving towards answering the query in their results for a long time. Take queries on the population of a city, for instance. The further they go down this road, the less useful it will be to have your information pages listed in them. Search engine optimisation could move from a game of getting everything indexed, to one of getting everything indexed except the answers to questions. Of course, this perhaps only applies when you’re the only one who knows the answer. It’s worth considering where you want to draw the line, and how long the snippet has to get before it’s no longer to your benefit to have all your content indexed.
