I totally agree, especially with points two and three. Its funny how often design gets overlooked. If you want a site to be taken seriously as an authority it needs to look half decent. You can have a ferrari engine under the hood but if it looks like 71 Ford Pinto you will have people turning their backs.
Agreed on all counts.The trouble we get into with web designers is when search and analytics data are at odds with the desired/existing design - especially when the design is fresh from someones imagination. We are forced to call someones baby ugly, and in my experience, many web designers professionalism at that moment leavea something to be desired. I know that David Carver left Google over this type of thing, so it can be taken too far.So I would add to the end of that list..."Good design respects the need to adapt when observed behaviors dictate."
