Thanks for submitting! I would really like to know if I am the only one or if you too can relate. Maybe it’s a German/Europe only problem?

I know most of them, but since I live almost next door, that doesn’t answer your question if it’s a European problem ;)

I have an addition:  The inherited client. ie, your contact at the client company leaves and the replacement comes in with their own agenda which smacks of obliterating any evidence of the predecessor. The only way for the SEO consultant to survive such a situation is through impeccable account management, campaign success/reporting and social skills.

Yeah, right Lee. I had luckily only two of those until now.

These types of clients exist in nearly every business. This is why it is important for you to have a written down, revised regularly, set of goals for yourself and your business, along with a clear description and well understood image of YOUR PERFECT CLIENT.For example, in my office we seek clients with 3 primary qualities:they enjoy the servicethey value the servicethey talk about the service to others (referrals)You also want to study carefully the actions of new clients so you can better determine who you are dealing with before you deal with them. For this I’ll use Lee Oddens client checklist.http://www.toprankblog.com/2007/09/sem-readiness/It’s a great way to filter out what you don’t want and to discover clues about your prospects. After you have a hundred (or maybe less) of these filled out you’ll be able to match them to your list of potential ’types’ of clients and can act accordingly.

here’s one to add if you haven’t met this type: the one that tells you that they could just be doing this themselves... or tell you that and then tell you how to do your job optimizing their site :)i have run into i think 9/10 of your list. /sigh
