The toolbar code includes a meta noindex tag and then a rel=canonical to point to the original article. Will crawlers just give up after the noindex?

I am following all of the articles on this. Im remaining silent until I see a solid explanation of what may be going on. Oggy sure offers a very convincing dissection of the process. Nice piece!
This is a great article to explain the Diggbar and how it can and can not hurt your SEO planning.
Gutted, I just blogged about this and I thought I broke the news.
The rel="conanical" is ineffective as it does not operate cross-domain.<div></div><div></div><div>Will be interesting to see how this plays out.</div>
Nice, in-depth write up:Also notice META Noindex, follow (implied). Though Diggbar pages wont show up in the SERPs, Digg will still absorb link juice through internal links on noindexed pages. Another win-win for Digg.
