It seems like just a few weeks ago when Stephan and I chatted with Neil Patel about what the next quick hit for Diggers would be, and I think he suggested shoving an iPhone into a blender. So, the guys at Will It Blend have done it, of course. Submitted to Digg about 19 hours ago, it already has 6853 diggs. http://digg.com/apple/Will_it_Blend_iPhone

Insane. Talk about, pardon the pun, blending two great things together -- the viral hype of the blending site with the iPhone hype.
I think that hole blending thing started with the Danish/Chilean artist Marco Evaristti with his installation "The Goldfish Blender" - see more here: http://www.evaristti.com/work/installation/HELENA/index.htm The blenders was filled with live gold fish and connected to the power. Anyone could blend them - if they wanted. And in fact, at one of the places the installation was shown one did :) Marco is a master of creating events and installations that gets a lot of attention. A true master of PR. In his last project he climed to the top of Mont Blanc covered the top in red and announced a new state - well, it actually took a few arrests, french police and helicopters before he got to that. But read more about that on Marcos blog.
So sad..
i love this. iphone mania is out of control! yes, its a cool gadget, but its still just a material good - it blends!
Will It Blend is a great example of a never ending opportunity for viral content development! Reminds me of the old Timex commercials... Takes a licking, and keeps on ticking. Dare say, I think Timex has met its match.
Such a waste of an iPhone, but as ever great stuff from the Will It Blend team already over 700,000 views on YouTube in 2 days. The Ipod that they did 7 months ago has had the most views at 3.8 million. The iPhone at this rate will go past that in weeks!
I shed a single tear while watching that vid. I love my iPhone. And the thought of it ever turning into black dust one day makes me sad!
