This is a very in depth post, and one worth discussing here as it thinks beyond the whole link bait, social media link building that we've all gotten warped into.

For example, I've taken away some key items... Like when evaluationg a blog -- checking things like the number of subscribers using Bloglines or Google Reader and then others like theTechnorati Authority are all items that I never would've thought of.

We get jaded into thinking it's all about (visible) PageRank and anchor text.  With a relevant link though, there's a lot more to it.

I really do not want to break in (don`t hate me for that)...I also wrote about this topic about 2 weeks ago: http://www.jabz.biz/internet-marketing-news/search-engine-optimization/how-to-buy-links-the-right-way

I have some more points, some of your points are missing.

My concept brought me only higher rankings and higher PageRank with this update. For me it`s proven. :)

Hey Jab - don't worry about breaking in.  I don't think my post was an end all be all to link building research, and I am certain that other professionals do more, take alternative routes and can aggregate/analyze data even better.

Note that my post was less about buying links and more about creating an effective process for prioritizing opportunities and strategies.

Either way, glad the community found it valuable and there's nothing wrong (imo) with adding more details and ideas to the conversation.
