"Today Kelvin Newman asked me for a Twitter-tip. Well, I won’t reveal what he’s gathered so far until he publishes his collection, but I thought I could post a TwitterTip myself. I’m on a dead slow Internet connection, so here’s the KISS guide to professional stalking on Twitter..."

Thanks for the sphinn, Ed! You’re right, Pipes is underestimated ...

I’m gonna Desphinn it if you call me Ed one more time. I prefer Edward. Me nemesis call me Ed when I get on their nerves. It is a dead giveaway. :) I think what you did with Pipes is pretty cool. I’ve been stuck in my old school feed readers doing the raw data thing which works fine for me. I may have to try that Pipes thingy and see if this old dog can change his ways. I have the perfect image for this... http://www.SEOConsultants.com/twitter/search/#RealTimeSearch I do some Covert Following on Twitter myself. ;)

Edward, I apologize. I’m sooo used to get called ’Seb’ and I hate it, too.

I don’t use Pipes to stalk but I do use it to rinse news feeds and twitter hashtag streams. FeedRinse is another option but Pipes is more fun to play with.

Doesn’t search.twitter accomplish the same task without all of the work? Just include [from:username OR from:username OR from:username] etc and subscribe to the search results feed? Search.twitter grabs all tweets, deleted or not, too.The only problem would be the 140 search character restriction. Edward, anyway around that in search.twitter (I know you love breaking it in the stream)?Let me know if I’m missing something with the Pipes trick. I like that there’s obviously more flexibility, so our minds can go in different directions, but for the simple task of stalking people, i would think advanced searches do the same thing.

Depends on the number of folks you’re stalking. With a dozen or more I’d use the pipe thingy.

Makes sense on the amount. Now onto the real question, why are you stalking more than a dozen people? Creepy... ;)

Coz I’m too busy during the week, usually. Can’t follow Twitter all day long. Or call it greed. ;)
