Your first option is using a domain you own but have never used. If your domain is xyz.com, and you need to target ‘Miami refinancing, then make sure to place the keywords in the URL. The website URL should appear as xyz.com/miami-refinancing not xyz.com/123.html. Even if your domain name was mortgage.com, I would still use the friendly URLs to make the link look like this mortgage.com/miami-refinancing

the title is misleading.what the author is talking about is ’search engine friendly’ website, not ’authority’ site. an ’authority’ site need not necessarily be ’search engine friendly’ and vice versa.

I think that’s why the title says ’from scratch’. You have to start SOMEWHERE!We’re not talking about current authority sites that maybe 10 yr old, and don’t have any property html tagging, nofollow tags, etc.

Nice.. this post has absolutely nothing to do with building authority sites. Authority is about dominating marketshare, becoming the center of attention, the primary distribution point of information/sales/services. Authority sites *initiate* and shape the direction of conversation while others are busy responding to what they say.If you think tweaking your TITLE and H1 will help you build authority sites, good luck.

halfdeck - looks like everyone has a different opinion on a authority siteyou may think google is an authority site....i may think nytimes is an authority sitenot all are on the same level but both are authority sitesremember ... this is from scratch not from a well established websitemy opinion of an authority site is a site that ranks for competitive keyterms within minutes of posting the page...and ranking in the top 10 of Google.again...different levels of authority..and depends where you put the ’bar’

you probably didn’t read the whole post because it wasn’t just html tagsmaybe we should just ignore the part i wrote about backlinks as well since that’s not going to help either....right????read the title please......from scratch and BASICSin what i do...i dont need luckif you looked at my rankings and testing then your statement will say that i’m very lucky

Keyword-friendly domain, content freshness bullshit, page size, backlink age, article directory submissions, directories, social bookmark sites yadda yadda yadda..Been there done that. I didn’t Sphinn, this is all Surface SEO stuff and the title could use an adjustment. There is really nothing there of depth that discusses how to go about establishing "true authority".
