Lisa Barone: It doesn’t matter if you’re an individual, a corporation or if you were just sitting there minding your own business, if you’re publishing content on the Web, at some point you are going to be attacked. Your words will be twisted, your integrity will be called into question, and someone will be waiting in the wings to tell you that not only are you WRONG, but you’re also incredibly UGLY. Basically, you’ll be sugarrae’d.

Jill: [cough] I have NEVER peddled automated software!  I believe I once wrote a post about SEO Tools and how they may be valuable in some circumstances. We’ve come a long way, let’s not slip back now. ;)

A lovely post and quiet brilliant. As the old saying goes negative publicity is the best publicity they can give you.

Great article!  Thanks for sharing.  The part I found particularly interesting was bringing the conversation back to your own blog, PURPOSEFULLY publicizing the issue. So many people are in a rush to quell negative feedback - there’s a lot of opportunity to turn situations such as those into good ones.
