I am really excited about the response this is getting. I created it just for fun one morning and it has brought in a lot of great, quality traffic to my blog. Thank you all for your Sphinns and comments, I really appreciate everything.

I thought it was pretty funny--sphunn.

I do take crimsongirl's point that a lot of people focus on me as the public face or assume that I'm involved with every search move that Google makes. Even in webspam and webmaster'ing, I'm just one of many people that do communication. Maybe we can get a blog post up to introduce a few more of the Googlers who work on (say) our webmaster groups, for example.

Wow, thanks for the comment Matt, I appreciate it.
And, while I do agree that there is a lot of confusion about your position with Google, you are one of the only Googlers who actually speaks out - let alone says something interesting from time to time.
