Basically what Im hearing is not everyone will see the diggbar so publishers content is not being framed all the itme. Iif you want to take the time to protect yourself you can learn how to bust of of frames with javascript? This is supposed to make the diggbar less evil? We have to take an extra step to protect ourselves from Digg stealing our traffic and links? The last question was rhetorical in nature. Please dont answer.None of this makes it better! There is still a matter of the diggbar being inherintly unethical. It is still framing publishers content and Stealing traffic and links to make digg appear to have more traffic than it does to boost advertising revenues and not to mention tracking user behavior on publishers websites. The digg bar still sucks. My 2 cents.
@htownseoguy - I dont think the DiggBar or framing of any site is awesome or acceptable. I was trying to make a guide of positive things that you can do with the DiggBar while showing how it works. I think that as far of framing goes, this is the least evil framing that you could do - yet still evil.I even added a whole section on how to block any framing of ones site if you simply dont like it. If it is your website, you can choose to avoid all frames, you can also choose not too. I understand you dont like it, but for every DiggBar out there, there is a Facebook frame, HootSuite frame, BurnURL frame and you should probably be implementing the code on your site anyway. The main goal of the article was to clarify how the DiggBar now works, and if you were trying to use it to your advantage - how you could do so. I am not condoning the DiggBar - rather stating that it is a fact of life , and how you can leverage it if you choose to.
@gregfinn" I think that as far of framing goes, this is the least evil framing that you could do - yet still evil"Exactly! If you pick the lesser of two evils, you are still picking evil. Nuff said.
@htownseoguy - Let me clarify - I never said I picked anything. Saying something is evil doesnt mean that I picked it by any means. The DiggBar is a fact of life right now, I simply broke down how to use it to your advantage. I even gave a methods so that both you and your visitors would ever see the DiggBar EVER again. Anyone can break a frame, but as a happy user of Digg the option to never see the DiggBar again is a great move on their part from a user perspective.
There is still a matter of the diggbar being inherintly unethical. The digg bar still sucks. My 2 cents.
