It is useful for newbie SEO and also for that who want to learn SEO.

It kind of lays the emphasis on a personal understanding of programming, which IMO is quite misguided. Sure, the blackhats can leverage programming for their business models, but I think most SEO's just don't need the command line experience being recommended.

Thanks for pointing this out Andy, I actually had someone ask me today "exactly what does an SEO do?". I will point them to Tim's blog for a much better answer than what I gave.
Can I ask that you revisit the grammar and get a few dozen commas and full stops in all the right places. It's a bit painful to pick through in a few places.
