Thanks so much for the Sphinn! I just hope it will be of some use! :)
Thats a massive list! How many of those questions did you have to answer during your recent job interviews, Ben?
For my current role, not many, but they had a good idea of what I already new already so wasnt necessary as much. The interview process was much more open ended, talking about projects, search engine algos, and recent news...I guess as many of my views are publicly available online then it makes the process a bit more unusual! Just as a note, I stated in the post that I certainly wouldnt recommend asking all these questions, but rather pick and choose depending on what you want t olearn about the candidate. After all, I wouldnt want to be responsible for someones death! lolHow about you? How did your latest SEO interview process go?
So, having an internet track record helped you in getting a job in SEO? I guess its a great way for employers to sift through all the applicants. I guess its one of the standard questions to ask "What is the most important aspect to you of the PageRank algorithm for link-building?"
Yeah, I think it helped, but I guess youd have to ask my employers! ;)Be careful with questions like: "What is the most important aspect to you of the PageRank algorithm for link-building?"...some of those questions are there for people to challenge and provide a little extra depth. I dont mean to say that PageRank is redundant in link-building but rather that there is more to the bare eye with some of those questions.Cheers.
Worth the Sphinn from me, a great list compiled here and a great selection of interview questions to pick if interviewing for SEO related positions... :)
@Manbody, please feel free to use the desphinn facility as you like, but Id just like to add that although I read a great number of search technology research posts and patents, I wouldnt claim to be a leading specialist in the field...hence why I asked Marie-Claire Jenkins (from http://www.scienceforseo.com/) to answer a few items on that very topic last year: http://www.justmeandmy.com/introduction-to-seo-ir-and-lsa-by-marie-claire-jenkins - I hope that clears things up for you. Just seems like an odd use of the desphinn - oh well, not to worry! :)@Zigjacko, thanks for the kind words! :)
This blog post is bogus. "Understand LSI" -- when all the writer thinks they understand is the wikipedia article about it. Dont post something unless you actually know it.
