This technology is a great idea, but I’m more anxious to see how these companies push people to get involved.  I imagine a heck of a PR campaign will be needed to educate the average consumer of this process...

google just called and is wondering if those are paid offline links. looks like they will need to add a new field to their "report paid links" form. :)thanks for the article jeff. offline links sound pretty cool. i wonder how long it will take to actually generate any traffic. it seems the mobile world is really taking off so maybe not as long it one may think.

@northrock, so true about Google and the paid links! Now I wonder if sites will get into reciprocal images too?

Maybe the Google phone will be an attempt to monitize some of these offline links! Maybe Google will have to look at purchasing Shotcode (heh)?

Such a great idea. Simple but revolutionary. Invest in those guys now.

Agreed Tad ... look at some of the investing companies (the little flash module in the right hand column of http://www.shotcode.com/aboutshotcodes/partners) ... which includes Walt Disney, T Mobile Sony Ericcson, BBDO, Oracle, Yellow Pages, IBM to name but a few. Then again, look at some of the companies using Shot Codes (http://www.shotcode.com/aboutshotcodes/customers). Where do I sign?

In 10 years: Body applications that will feed audio, visual and sensor signals to an on body computer interface. No typing of URLs anymore: with the blink of an eye or a touch of your finger or a voice command you will get data/info/content on your mobile device. The future will look like Tom Cruise..
