Personally, I would rather suggest just one thing Google can do with its PageRank. hehe.
Seriously though, I like the idea of promoting the exploitation of the systems that monetize PageRank. The more bloggers do it, the more Google will have to fight it. The more Google fights it, the harder and smarter we will have to work to find more means of traffic. I'm not the confrontational type, but until Larryp Page flips my design, hosting, and time input fees, they aren't telling me what I can and can't do with my site; especially in such a hypocritical manner. If they penalyze my blog, oh well. I'll have to use my noggin to find other means, like linking to it on Sphinn (which has brought me more traffic to date anyway).
haha sounds good SEO
well our blog was one of the many that took a -1 pr hit. I've done a few things to change it, like remove our "sponsored posts" category. Thats a big obvious. Otherwise I'm still going to monetize our site and sell links
I've always advocated having a sponsored posts meta-category. I create the category in wordpress, an then use a plugin (that I wrote) to ensure there is no sign of the category on the "public" side. This helps me use the interal WP search tool to find all sponsored posts should I wish too. It also lets me use the category as a logical variable when writing plugins that apply certain rules to sponsored posts (like keeping out Kontera ads etc.)
Not having a sponsored archive is better from a PR point of view than having one!
Won't those suggestions just compromise the rankings you've recieved? :)
@ ffnstuff
I say more power to ya.
@ lucia
See, already usin' the noggin. Awesome idea.
possibly search buzz, but why should google tell you how to run your own website?
If you live and die by PR and you are monetizing your blog, you are doing something wrong.
As someone said on some other post some where about something...
PR7 is the new PR5
PR6 is the new PR4
PR5 is the new....
so whats a pr3? lol
Wow $50.00 here and $100.00
That wouldn't cover the groceries and phone bill.
Most of the advice was the worst ever.
pagerank = money?
BS... go visit any bank and see if they have a google ingot indicator on their walls,,,,,
Build a business and never ever worry about PR!
Peace!
It is quite funny that they are suggesting blogs do the the main thing Google has just penalised people for.
I have to agree with Sem-Advance you should focus on a business rather than your PR
