This deserves a sphinn for how fast every element of seo is delivered.  Their are entire books on the subject and somehow Lee managed to get it into less than 5 minutes of reading.

Great list Lee. Sometimes it’s even helpful for us seasoned SEOs to go back and "remember" the basics.

Thanks guys. It is amazing how easy it is to get caught up with the "shiny new objects" of the latest and greatest tactics without making sure the fundamentals are solid.

Yes, but - link building based on articles, press releases, and directory submissions??

iBrian, a bit selective in your choices I see, which basically means misquoting. Tell the whole story or none at all. :)

It just sends a shudder when I see those methods listed as main. :) I know from what you’ve said elsewhere that I’m not being fair to you, though - good concise pointers, overall, in the article.

Never forget the basics with link building. They build the structure for your site - Articles, PR’s and DS’s are the solid groundwork. Sure its a laborious way to gain links compared to what’s on offer today but they are still a powerful way to help boost your SERPs and should never be shrugged off in any linking campaign.
