If you dont mind not having a pretty interface, Majestic is just so much more useful. I like the way how Linkscape presents the data more, such as 301 redirects, but the amount of data available on Majestic (redirects/expired links and just general amount of pages) makes it an easy win for me.
The best damn post on SEO youll read this month. Excellent, excellent work Dixon. Thanks a bunch!
Looks like there's one more tool that can chalenge the two contenders in the smackdown.
I’m using SEO SpyGlass http://www.link-assistant.com/seo-spyglass/ for backlink research and just out of curiousity I decided to test how it compares to the two. I checked the backlinks to seomoz.org (one of the target sites used in the test) and SpyGlass got 5,529 external referring domains with 24,725 backlinks. That’s more than LinkScape, though less than majestic but frankly I don't know how to handle the data in Majestic, the only thing I can think of is import it in SpyGlass because it has a much better interface. Besides it's much cheaper than any of the tools reviewed (SpyGlass is $99 with no domain limitations). I didn’t use even a third of the search engines supported by SpyGlass so the number of links I got is not the limit of the app.
I wonder what you guys think.
