Scary stuff, Google Maps zooms in on a shark very close to some surfers near Manly Beach in Sydney!

FUN!!!?? I live there, I surf there every morning! We have quite a few shark around there, but this looks like another surfer to me when I zoom in all the way. He’s lying on his board.

@Misscj, that’s got to be a shark looking at this when zoomed in, you can compare it next to an actual surfer too.I agree, it’s not so fun if you’re the one surfing with them! :)

No because if that’s a shark then there are more further down. There’s a guy floating in the ocean above a mirror image of himself, there is also another shadow that looks like a dark grey patch - I think the camera or something has a problem. I can make out a guy on his board. We have helicopters that fly around and check for them, and one that big would have been flagged. It’s a small wave day so you’ve got larger boards out, that shark would be min. 7ft!

What you’re saying does make sense and I’m sure you know far more about this than I do, although it still looks like a shark to me! :)Where are the ones further down out of interest?

looks like Misscj above is right, i tweeted this to the guys at http://googlesightseeing.com (great site btw!) and got this reply:@jaamit @kevgibbo It would be amazing if that was a shark, but unfortunately it’s a ghost image of the surfer. Thanks Misscj, I think it’s always good to see different types of posts mixed into Sphinn. Just a shame it wasn’t real, completely fooled me though!
