There are, unfortunately, a number of things wrong with this that could have been cleared up by reading the Facebook announcement:-No, SAS can’t be registered by someone. It has to be at least five characters. Gets in the way of most "initial" arguments.-The "Registration Number" is the one for your trademark. It’s on file with the government. (See this was addressed in the comments.)-You can register a vanity URL for a page Friday night. It says that right in the announcement. It’s going to be a cluster*** come Friday, but not for the reasons stated here.

That’s a good catch with the SAS part. Someone else pointed out the registration number so I’ll see if I can get the post updated. With regard to your last point, however, not all pages are eligable for a vanity URL. It says that right in the announcement.

Pratt,I did a bit more digging, and we’re both a little right about the Pages. You can register Friday night, but you were right about the 1,000 minimum: http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=91106469821&ref=blog.

Yeah that’s what I meant, my apologies for not making that clearer as it is a very important point. You are right though, this is definitely going to be one giant cluster ****

Hilarious, given that I just finished Anil Dash’s hilarious prediction of the coming "facebook debacle."
