Ive never really understood bounce rates. Now I think I have a good handle on it, but for some reason I just couldnt grasp it. Thanks for this, it was very helpful.
Glad to know it was of help to you :)
In my experience the more traffic youve got the higher bounce rate. Unless youre looking at bounce rate for specific keywords & pages bounce rate on its own, as an average, is useless as a metric you can take actionable tactics to. SEO style.Mmmm... of course, it all depends on the type of content youre adding to a site.2c
thanks for clarifying! :)
Nasty super spammy pages full of FLASHy ads tend to have high bounce rates. That is why Google uses this metric.
Thanks for updating us from this issue. It will helps us to get lesser bounce rate.
Having a high bounce rate is not always bad. It can signify that the visitor is getting the information they want and moving on to whatever else they want to do. For example, a site with a list of coupon codes may have a high bounce rate if the coupons are displayed in such a way where obtaining the code is easy and requires no clicks. But this does not apply to most sites, and it is important to reduce the bounce rate.
