Ok peeps.... I’d been hearing WAY too much about so called ’real time’ search engines of late and thought I’d put a few musings together on it (and some rudimentary testing). If you’d care to leave some feedback on it - I’d be most appreciative as it’s an interesting topic.

The reality is that there is very littel real-time information I search for.  I mostly look for information that is accurate.  Veracity and immediacy are rarely compatible.

Agreed on that point as well - it is a rare occasion that I actually care about up-to-the-minute news/information. A lot of this really is a ’buzz’ monitoring approach more than anything and the flavour of the month as well. As we noted, much of the current stock are little more than social aggregators anyway... bah humbug...
