Myself and Sam Murray have on numerous occassions debated whether bold and italic tags has any impact at all anymore on the search engines. Sam argues that even if it doens’t you SHOULD make use of these tags...and I must agree (damn I actually have to agree with him, the student becomes the teacher..)

Great post General Murray!! Completely agree (for once) with you aswell :-) I think that too many people in this industry are forgetting the user with too much focus on search engines. Of course in order to convert traffic you need to have visits to start with, which is where your initial aim should be....But the overall aim is to convert your visitors into customers within a short space of time. Bolding helps to capture users focus when they land on your webite. Why would you ignore something that has a clear impact on conversions just because new practices have come into play - lets not forget the basics people. over and out.
