I loved this article and commented (#63) at the end. For some reason, maybe due to a link I put which follows, it isn't showing. Here's what i wrote. My site is a Pligg variation by the way.
Fantastic Article! I am a business owner who is only now being introduced to social media via one of the sites my company owns (EarthFrisk.com) that I wish I had the time to market and get the word out on as you describe. It was started for fun only but is growing rapidly without much effort so far. I would actually prefer to hire people to help me out. My phone number is 800-716-5518 - and I would love a few of you hot shots to tell me what can be done. I’m all ears and usually throw between 5-10K a month into interesting and new advertising methods online and off ( mostly off). I want to get the word out for a contest that I am releasing Monday (I know from what everyone says there are far better ways to market - now I’m learning), but the contest is already set and I’m about to pay lots of bloggers to promote it. Seriously - check it out and if you have some pull and can help turn a site that is designed for fun, I can pay $. This is the contest that will be released on EF Monday ( http://www.successfuloffice.com/answering-service/contest.htm
I’m willing to try a few more ideas out but ideally would like to hire someone who can promote on an ongoing basis. Any people here with some ideas and the time to implement, I am all ears and will be in my office Monday from 11 am until 9PM Eastern time. I am a workaholic and have businesses in 5 states and really don’t have time at all to do these things myself, but see the benefits obviously.
Hey this is a great article that you wrote :) definitely a sphunn!
Good stuff. We were just discussing this in our podcast--that "social media marketing" is essentially online public relations, but it's not "doing public relations online," if that makes any sense. Whole different set of rules and etiquette...
