Certainly one for the water cooler, and as the author suggests, this is pure speculation and not based upon a shred of fact.

Contrived speculation like this is unseemly and irresponsible. This is the sort of thing that gives SEO a bad name!

Rumors like that have been running around for a while now. I mean you heard rumblings when Google hired Adam, and then there was a post he did on his blog once about moving on at some point. Yes he will leave Google, someday. Will it be soon, who knows. It’s his choice and when he does we will all need to figure out how to live after he’s moved on. For the time being lets stop worring about this and enjoy the fact that he’s still here, because he does make the SEO world a little more fun by being in it.

Dude, Jayic, did you read the article? It is blatently tounge in cheek and filled with grins and giggles. I think that is why Andy put it in the Water Cooler. If the author, whom I must say is a swell and swankin’ guy, was serious about this speculation it would be at the top of the Google seaction.Think of this as LOLMatts

I do not know if this guy is for real, but I think Matt wants to move on and he should. There is life after Google.I also think Google is not the free go as it feels spirit anymore, so Matt is in a box, instead of being creative and enjoying himself.Matt, time to smell the morning coffee. Go travel, write a book, play of your cats. You know Google is a dog company..:)

>>play of your cats  Didn’t TS Elliot already do that?Yeah, I wonder if this SEOinSeattle guy is for real too. He seems like a real shady character to me. I bet he got into all sorts of troubble when he was a kid. His dad probably wanted him to be a lawyer, but no, he had to go and become an SEO. Ingrate!

I’m very happy at Google. I haven’t been blogging as much recently because I’ve got a bunch of stuff that I’m doing at work.
