It didn’t take long for someone to hack the first OpenSocial application. In fact, it took just 45 minutes.

Well. I guess all this means is that maybe you CAN write a nifty Open Social app pretty quickly one afternoon if you wanted like they were emphasizing ....but maybe that’s not really a GOOD idea. Taking, oh, a week or three to properly go through the code, add error-handling, security features and generally debug and harden the app might be better.The problem seems to be people are being too quick to add these untested app into a live system without any kind of proper checks being done first. Understandable I guess. There are some pretty nifty features potentially available. Open Social is, afterall, esentially the first "Web 3.0" platform that’s widely available that I know of.
