Lisa Myers talks about an agency who claims you have to pay for Google Local Business listings. Basically they are convincing businesses that they have to PAY to appear in Google Maps and they are in fact “selling” the keywords, telling customers that they will get a place in the top 10 listings.

These types of shady tactics have been around forever, and unfortunately will probably be a part of our world for a long time to come. The best thing to do is shed light on these practices via articles like this and educated the consumer. It sad because a few bad apples can really damage the perception of the industry.
