My guess is they are a premium publisher as they are allowed to customize the ads.

I knew they got special revenue shares, but I never realized there were changes to the number of ad units you can display! Wow - seems sorta excessive to me...

Nope, I've just seen this at Wiki.com too (search for "job search" to see 9 ads in a skyscraper). I'm guessing GG is messing with the AdSense algorithm.
