"Links alone - no matter where you get them - won't win the competition for you"Amen -- although I must be honest and admit it gives one an almost unfair headstart; in some spaces enough to become the default winner.
The "reasons for why your distributed content [make that any linkbuilding] may not produce the results you want" are essential reading for noobs and clients. And this is for everyone:

For as long as I can remember (almost 10 years), the wise have been saying that only a wide range of quality links will deliver long-term results. And any resuls from anything less might not last. Maybe that's going to be true real soon.
