May I be among the first to congratulate Gary on his 'Frustration & Futility' Award. I aim to repeat your success and have been studying your epic list of submissions, including such gems as "WIPO launches IP PANORAMA: Online E-Learning About Intellectual Property Issues For Small and Medium Size Biz" and the unforgettable classic "New Specialty Database: Science: ChemxSeer to Hunt Molecules Online; Also Say Hello to TableSeer"
Congrats also to the recipients of the lesser awards.
Oh Nanny U little bugger.... got the drop on me huh? You forgot to Stumble it though.. he he.... at least I got to do something....
@ Baid - lesser? They are all venerable... each award winner has put an effort into building Sphinn.... so they all deserve some love! HA!
;-)
theGypsy - Yes, I was super quick this morning. I want to tell you I just happened to come across the post, but the truth is I was so excited about the awards I showed up on Jeff's Blog 5 minutes early to see todays winners. Jeff wrote an amazing post!!
An honourable mention for fast fingers, how exciting! Congratulations to all the others!
@ Shana - it was a bunch of fun for Jeff and I to do.... it started small with me doing some numbers ( I am a # junky ya know) and then we thought it was working so we started spoofing the ceremony part... from there, it was laughter upon laughter.. :0)
@ Plant - congrats man! Welcome to the world of celebrity in the Sphinn-o-sphere
Sebastian was pining for a 'dumbass' award on my post Friday.... had me thinking about some silly awards like that to which I could make some polls for... let folks actualy vote.... who knows, if the people want us to do more... we may. At this point it was a one-off really... we'll see how it turns out....
If we had an award for the 'Fastest to go hot' I think this post would win.. should be hot witihn the hour :0)
Stay tuned for the exciting conclusion tomorow!
2 hours old now and not hot, I think we have had faster... though looks like more than 21 needed again
It's hot now :)
A word of warning about your sponsor: I snuck into the manufacturing plant and found out that Google Green Bar is people!
@ Andy - 1hr 58 min to go Hot... we think the delay (took 22?) may be because a few folks at Jeff's shop Sphunn it.. so maybe there is a limit on same IPs?
@ qwert - dood... you lost me with 'Google Green Bar is people'.... How about ana award for the most confusing comment?? ha ha ha ha
Qwerty - Someday, someone smart is going to make a Soylent Green Energy Bar...
Their tagline?
"It's our people that make our products so tasty!"
Now that was hysterical -- very well done, gang. Worthy of all the attention it's getting. :-)
To add to the conversation here in comments, my "Top 21 Signs..." went hot in 47 minutes. I don't know if that's the record or not, but it's probably in the hunt.
Awesomely funny guys, can't wait to see tomorrow's installment!
The Gary Price comment isn't really nice. He has contributed a ton and has not asked anyone to Sphinn his submissions. It is because of that reason that most his contributions did not get hot. IMO, we should actively watch what Gary submits and help most of his submissions go hot.
Why? Simply because he brings a new view of search that most of us cannot see on our own, including myself.
Uhhh.. doood.... in case you didn't notice we said to SHOW THESE PEOPLE SOME LOVE... which meant to maybe give them a Sphinn here and there..... so I already SAID THAT. Have another read brother.
Oh well, can't please them all huh? ... grumble mumble....
If you say so. Just be careful about how you word things....
Why Rusty?... I actually wrote that thinking that these folks deserved some more love.. the same thing you did.... Bringing some attention to their plight didn't seem wrong at all to me.
"For these fine folks that love so deeply, even when they are not loved back"
as well as;
"for all your efforts and hard work. I know there are 161 of us that are extremely appreciative "
and ;
" let's show these folks some love people"
Jeez dude.....
The Gary Price thing was the funniest part of the event! I'm sure Gary would also find it amusing...
Jill,
You would be surprised.
Barry ... can you email me Glen's email? jeff (at) searchenginepeople.com.
I missed this before. You posted it the day I set out for London for SMX; someone there alerted me to it.
I guess my comment count is high as this place is a bit like a forum, and I spent a lot of time in several of those too.
