In this day and age local search engine optimization has become even more important as more people turn to the web to search for products and services in their local area. A smaller sized business in these modern times can see huge benefits from having a strong presence in their local search results, although Seo for local searches can differ greatly in comparison to a global search.

For high competitive keywords, it is easier to rank in local result and get business rather than going for a tough competition in global search.

Agreed, but I believe that due to the density of competition on the internet today that in order to rank well for those highly competitive global searches in the future a website is going to have to also rank well for many of the more specific search terms. Many of your big budget SEO companies realize this and have been focusing some of their efforts on more specific key terms. The game field of local seo is still wide open for those nearby companies with a thirst for business that can only be quenched online. I think it is time for some SEO's to start knockin' on peoples doorsteps in their own backyards, you never know where you are going to find that benificial longterm client.
