Great illustration of how this new stuff can and will be gamed. Very interesting, indeed...
I completely agree with this article. The implications of Google's real time search are just scary.. and frankly not very well thought out.
That's only the top of the iceberg. Google removes untrusted links but can be easily fooled to show save at work anchor text for links pointing to the worst porn traps avail on the 'net.
This is by far the best SEO related title I've ever seen, LOLed at it so hard :D
How easy it is to spam Google's real-time search is the first thing I've thought when testing it for the first time... I don't know why Google didn't think a bit harder before releasing it. Topsy is a Twitter search engine showing the most RTed links. Spam is much more difficult there and it combines real-time with crowdsourcing...
I am looking forward to Twitter "quality of profile" algorithm :) We SEOs will start doing TEO (Twitter Engine Optimisation)
Google's now practing real time brandjacking. Time to fire up the bots...
I agree. It is like sir spam a lot and all his cohorts are on twitter.
This is so true. It is like the spammers are out in force. Well, we can see more scams coming.
