from the page, "The much discussed and highly revered Cluetrain Manifesto is proving to be more relevant than ever. As Social Media becomes more pervasive in marketing, it’s imperative that we become gatekeepers to prevent opportunistic marketers from bankrupting the conversation economy."

Oh good luck!  Seriously, it's a good conversation to have but remember the fable of the hound and the hair.  One is running for his dinner, the other for his life.  There's no way in hell social media types are going to effectively thwart opportunistic marketers.  It doesn't mean they shouldn't try but this would best be taken from the "legalize marijuana debators" viewpoint... instead of declaring war on it and spending zillions in terms of time, energy and restrictive applications, find a way to bring  the greedy bastards into the fold... give them a small area within which to operate freely and then THEY will police the less scrupulous in their midst.

But to brand and declar war on them all is really just asking for a battle social media types just cannot win.  Eight-hundred sheep couldn't beat up one wolf if they tried.

Oh boy. Sheep vs. a wolf? Please.  This is more about the people selling hemp and making millions instead of trying to legalize marijauana.
