On an interesting side note, the other side of our business is a ghostwriting agency. I often have to speak about our writers before having selected the right one for a project. Since most of our writers are "she", I use the word "she". I keep expecting somebody to ask why I refer to "the writer" and "she" and not just use her name, if I know that it's a she. So far, nobody seems to have cared/noticed/asked.
I have to say I am conflicted with how I feel. I think that she dug deep when she had to and came up with an option that allowed her to support her family.
On the other side of the coin, when writing as a memeber of the opposite sex, I would think that you would use a different approach, a different tone, at least some part of your writing would be different in some way. And then you aren't be true to yourself or your readers.
It's good that she has finally revealed herself and now she can be true to herself which is the most important thing.
Sad how women feel the need to tear down other women for their choices. Still.
I disagree completely with most of this article.
There are lots and lots of folks out there who are unable to discuss any social or political issue outside the context of racism or sexism. Many of these folks are college professors and one is an ex-president.
This problem is going to be with us for a long time.
Oh my gosh... A she writing for "Men with Pens"...
Reminds me of that movie "The Associate" starring Whooooppee Goldberg.
Hilarious movie.
I think if a web site promotes itself as "Men with Pens" that it should be very diligent about the promise impiied in the title. Not because of "sexism" rather because of "credibility"....
There is way too much slight of hand on the www. Once you are "found out" you lose credibility. And the issued will never be "what you did"... rather it will always be about "what you promised".
