Gosh. We've always found a pretty blond worked best... but we never thought to test with dogs! :)

Great post. I'd go along with your first conclusion: dog 1 is looking away from the form and appears disinterested by it, whereas the Jack Russell is actively pointing towards it.

Not sure about your dog hairiness theory - after all, the Dulux dog seems to work OK for them - maybe you could try a hairy dog in the same pose?

Baiduyou you do have a point there, we would need to test out a shaggy dog pointing to the form. We now just need to find the image.
