They should hire an SEO consultant to enlighten employees the cons and the pros of social networking. Also the company needs tomonitor the flow of information.So no privacy.It can be very dangerous for comany’s public relationship if a disgrunted employee went bunkers and ploted some nasty scrible all over the Internet...

Very good point, igorthetroll!  You can’t really control what your employees say on their sites, but you can provide them with guidelines letting them know what is accepted by the company. Those who ignore the rules will obviously suffer the repercussions. Many companies already have a blogging policy in place. All they have to do is expand it to include social networking...

There are restrictions in place but in my office it is encouraged that employees engage in social media.
