This is excellent news! Congrats to Vanessa, Rebecca and everyone at SEL/Sphinn on this great move!Duane
Thanks Barry. Im really looking forward to it. And thanks Duane!
Wow, congrats! Vanessa, that sounds like a fun gig! And Rebecca, good luck taking on the hot potatoe of copy editing!
Congratulations everyone! Im a big fan of the stuff youre all producing. Thanks for putting topics in language people without Ph.D.s can understand.
Awesome news--Vanessa is my favourite ex-Googler ;) Congrats to you both!
I dont know if Danny or any of you have covered the topic before but the hiring of editors process is something that would be valuable to many of us.We already know youre all super qualified for your tasks, but what about bringing on editors/writers for SB websites or others? Any opinions on pros/cons of hiring inhouse vs. not? What experiences are there with salaries, hourly pay, barter, etc.?Have any of you had experience closing the gaps between persons experienced in traditional editing vs. SEO minded editing?
Matt, I hope your "potatoe" was just you channeling your inner Dan Quale. :DIm happy to be aboard--reading SEL every day keeps me updated on search news and trends, so its a good habit for me to get into.
Just my little inside joke to you, Rebecca. :)
Congrats Vanessa and Rebecca - next stop, the world! :o)
Wow, Im glad I read that through; I thought Danny was hiring them full-time, or maybe building up some kind of female SEO super-team (Dannys Angels?). I look forward to Vanessa and Rebeccas contributions.
Based on this hiring, someone has to ask the question: "Is Danny also working on a Search Engine Land swimsuit edition?"Just kidding ladies, congrats!
Congrats to all, SEL is without question the home of the most talented people in our field. What a great thing, to have so many good people aboard.
Congrats Rebecca and Vanessa.
Good work guys; glad to see that Rebecca will keep on fighting the good fight that is an anal compulsion to fix bad grammar (if she started a club Id join too)!;)
