As I announced last week, I have sold my biggest blog: PluginID. The site was around 19 months old, had 6,600 subscribers and according to a tool that monitors different niches online, was the 10th biggest personal development blog in the world.

Thanks for this post.

I think most people forget that they should "tell people to read them", and almost all of us are bad at defining goals such as:

"What a conversion actually is varies from site to site, but for me, my conversions were product purchases and RSS subscriptions."

As well as using some kind of multivariable testing tool/event tracking implementation should give you enough data to know if your site is actually built to build subscribers. :)

Good tip.

I use BLVDStatus which I have wrote about a few times so I can see keywords / traffic sources that are directly clicking on feedburner links and so on.

I love such stories. Awesome! I just don't understand why did you sell you blog?

Hi Mike,That was explained on PluginID.com (second post -- i won't spam links here)

My main reason is that I have massive goals to reach this year and I want to cut down the number of projects I'm focusing on. Also, the site was a journey of my personal growth and I've come a long way in the last 18 months to the point where a lot of the goals I have now (like buying a nightclub) aren't really going to resonate with a lot of people.Yet.

I hope that helps!
